Do you have any connection with a David Oddy born in Knaresborough abt 1850? In 1881 he was in Rotherham, in 1891 in Bradford and in 1901 in South Otterington. He was a sewing machine agent and obviously moved around a bit from the births of his children. He was married to Louisa by whom he had John H b. Yeadon abt 1876; Alfred b. Killinghall abt 1877; Ernest b. Batley abt 1878; James W b. Rotherham 1881. By his second wife, Margaret Chapman, he had Frances b. Pontefract. abt 1892; Herbert Victor b. Pontefract abt 1894; Gladys Miriam b. Ripon abt 1897 and Percy b. Barnard Castle abt. 1900, possibly others. And a Wilfrid b. Ripon about 1888, don't know by which wife.
