Hi,
this is my first posting to this list.
Am seeking information about the occupation of FUR MACHINIST as given as
mothers occupation on a birth certificate.
This is in Aston, Birmingham UK, in the 1940s.
Would there be an apprentice register?.
Would such work be done as a cottage industry at home, or in a workshop.
Would it be a family related industry??
Any information at all would be great.
Cheers,
Brenda
