A great deal has already about said about Dan, and I must agree with it all, and much more. It seems that since 1982 or so I had been in touch with Dan on my families in Saint John. He was always a help and I was very grateful for that assistance.
I knew for some time he had been very ill off and on, but he always responding to email some time later and I guess I always expected him to be there.
He was a wonderful asset to the genealogical community and he shall be sadly missed. Dealing only through correspondence for the past 20+ years, I never realized Dan was so young. He managed to contribute so much to NB research in that time -- even before he was 30!
I don't know how I would have half the info I have if it weren't for his publications and database. Suzanne mentioned that his books were in libraries from NS to MA -- I can add that my Orlando FL library has some as well, so his work is helping folks far and wide - and will continue to do so. A great accomplishment. God bless him.

My sincerest sympathy to his family and friends,
