HBH June 1st 1883 Fire
An alarm of fire was raised yesterday afternoon, and caused a great deal of temporary excitement. An assistant in Mr S HOOPER's shop was lighting the oil-gas lamps used there, Prompt measures were, however taken to extinguish the flames, before the The Fire Brigade (which arrived on the sport very smartly) could get its hose to bear.
