Hello all

1. RESEARCH DAY
There will be a combined English Interest Groups and Australian Interest
Group research Day at Palmerston North this weekend. Details are as follows:
Date: Saturday 14th August.
Time: 10 am to 3 pm.
Place: The leisure Centre, 569 Ferguson Street, Palmerston North.
The Cornish Interest Group will be there with the library.

2. MEMBERS REQUESTS - please contact Sue direct if you can help her.
I Recently received a death entry for Thurza (maiden name STANAWAY) JESSOP
(sometimes JESSUP) which states that she came from Pichley in Cornwall, but
I haven't been able to find it on any map and checked Phillamores too, but
nothing like this name. Suggestion is it could be a tiny hamlet or name of a
farm or a mispelling from transcription, so wondered if any member had any
ideas....
Sue also writes:
I have an enquiry from a NZSG member who is trying to trace a family who
came into New Plymouth and was said to have been at Kawau Island here in
Auckland. Wondered do you have any lists of people from Cornwall who took
this route as I believe there were some miners employed at Kawau with this
background in the copper mines. Looking for the name ROGERS....
Your help would be most appreciated.

3. HAMILTON RESEARCH DAY
On the 17th July at Hamilton, someone asked me to print out some 1861 census
records and post them out. I neglected to get their address and they forgot
to give it to me. I have two printouts of TRAVIS family from the 1861
census looking for a home. Please contact me if you are still waiting for
these.

3. CORNISH NEWS
I am always looking for members contributions to the Cornish News magazine.
I also don't get many "Letters to the Editor". Please help!

That's all for this week.
Happy researching
