There are about forty cheese factories in Wyoming county.
Wyoming county has a fund of $8,500 to build a soldiers' monument.
H.W. GARDNER's house, at Attica, was burglared of $45 and a suit of
clothes a few evenings since.
We learn from the Wyoming 'Democrat' that a man in Pike has been digging for
gold for some time past, and still believe he will find it.
W. D. MINER has received appointment as postmaster at Warsaw in place of Wm.
H. MERRILL, resigned. Appointment to take effect August 15th.
The Bath 'Advocate' says: "Col. C.A. CANFIELD has been appointed Chief
Engineer on the Attica & Arcade Railroad. It is 60 miles long, and connects
with Atlantic & Great Western at Salamanca. The Colonel has taken with him
his son Robert, and Frank CRUTTENDEN. Roberts acts as first Assistant
Engineer, and Frank is to perfect himself in Engineering.
