Pam,

My mother Edna Smith of Cobleskill is going to the state genealogy library
today and will check some records. If she finds the Anna Coons and/or Edward
Nickerson names she may be able to determine which town she was in and
"probably" where the death record is. You could then contact the town clerk
and order a copy. She will also check to see if the Times-Journal (still in
existence, the Index is no longer) was publishing obits in that year. Your
interlibrary loan takes awhile but is probably free, while ordering the
actual record from a town clerk costs a few $$, but it good to know.

Where would I find the obituaries for the year 1892 in Schoharie County? My
great grandmother, Anna Coons Nickerson, died in 1892. I found out she died
from consumption, but her spouse is not listed on the information I received.
I know her parents were Elijah and Catherine Cornell Coons, and the
information I do have says her husband was Edward/Adward Nickerson. I was
hoping an obituary may give me more information, and possibly lead me to the
correct cemetery.

Thank you in advance,
