"Carolyn Dickinson, who was killed, was the sole support of her widowed
mother. Her father and brother-in-law died recently. She died because she
left for lunch hour earlier than usual in order to help another girl get a
job. She was waiting for the other girl at broad and Wall Street when the
bomb exploded. The other girl, who was late, escaped injury, but was close
enough to see her friend thrown to the ground by the explosion. Miss
Dickinson was a stenographer employed by George H. Burr & Co., and was
standing a few feet from Harold L. Gillies." The World Newspaper of
