This is Evelyn out in Ocean Park, Maine wondering if anyone is still
subscribed to the list. If so, how is everyone's summer so far? Gas prices have
they affected your travel plans. Me, I don't travel or vacation any more. I
have had to change my routine, in that, many gas stations have a different price
with cash or with credit card, so now (like in the old days) I have cash in my
wallet.

Hi, everyone,
This is too weird - just this morning i was looking thru some old folders, in
an effort to organize/clear out old genealogical 'stuff'. I came across some
printouts of messages from our (Vee's) reunion of reserachers in Niagara
County! The reunion was in 2003, 5 years ago. Time flies....
This fall I will be visiting the old villages of my ancestors in Germany.
Fortunately, we made the reservations in Feb., so got a good airline deal.
Haven't looked at the current prices. Of course, the sevices/food are less, and
I'm down to one $15-fee piece of luggage, lighter than I have ever traveled!
I had hoped to go to Germany again some day, but now am thinking I will do
and see as much as i can, with the assumption I will not be able to afford it
again. Gas is around $10 a gallon there, and the Euro is around $1.60. Oh
well, I have waited for this for a long time (was supposed to go with a group on
Sept 12, 2001-thank you Obama...) and finally it has worked out to go this year.
Hope everyone is having a great summer!
