Westchester County Genealogical Society (NY) Upcoming Meeting

The next meeting is this coming Saturday.

MEETING INFO:
WHAT: Genealogy Related Records in the Brooklyn Diocesan Archives with
Joseph Coen

WHEN: Saturday, SEPTEMBER 12, 2009 @ 10 a.m.

WHERE: Aldersgate Methodist Church, 600 Broadway in Dobbs Ferry (across
from Mercy College on route 9)

Joseph Coen, CA, will lead off WCGS’ new genealogical year on Saturday,
September 12th, with his lecture called Genealogy Related Records in the
Brooklyn Diocesan Archives. Mr. Coen has been an archivist since 1986 and a
Certified Archivist since 1990. He has been Archivist for the Roman Catholic
Diocese of Brooklyn for 15 years. His experience includes archival work
for the N. Y. C. Municipal Archives, as well as records management work for
Western Suffolk BOCES.

Mr. Coen will discuss sacramental records, school records, deceased priest
files and other resources related to genealogical research in the Diocese
of Brooklyn. He will talk about what information is available and how to
request it.

The meeting opens at 10:00 a.m. at the Aldersgate United Methodist Church,
600 Broadway, Dobbs Ferry, NY.

Guests are welcome. Coffee and conversation precede the meeting at 9:30
a.m.
