Kathy, you are welcome to be an honorary New Yorker! I have ancestors in
New Brunswick, and the Provincial Archives are certainly something to be
very proud of! When I was there researching my family, the staff welcomed
me the same as they did the Canadians. My research for others has taken me
to many states and counties and I rely heavily on the county Gen web, AHLN,
county archives and local town history sites for help. By the same token, I
have had people write to me from afar.....Asia and Europe, seeking more
information about their Dutchess County ancestors. The potential for loss in
our records affects so many more than just our local residents, and
certainly voices from outside Dutchess County speaking out and demanding a
solution only serve to make our position so much stronger. But, we must
also rely heavily on our local residents to push for this action now.

If there every was a need for one, it would be Dutchess County. It is one
the most richest in history..... Ginny being Canadian... I have always stood
behind you, even growled at the board once or twice...Since I'm not American
at least not a pure blood.... I can't vote...Isn't there such a thing as a
hononary citizen of New York...I would surely apply asap. I have lots of
cousins that would stand up for me. I wishyou all the luck and pray the you
