Subject: [BKLYN] Obtaining high resolution copy of passenger manifest pages?
Date: Thu, 17 Apr 2008 14:14:17 -0400

Hello all,

You may or may not remember a while back I was seeking to help my former
boss find his grandmother on a passenger manifest. I managed to find
her; this record has been verified by my former boss and his father as
definitely being her:

<http://search.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/sse.dll?indiv=1&rank=0&gsfn=Susan&gsln=Reilly&sx=&rg_f46__date=&rs_f46__date=0&f14=&f72=&f74=&f97=&f70=Baltic&f24=&rg_f86__date=&rs_f86__date=0&gskw=&prox=1&db=nypl&ti=0&ti.si=0&gss=angs-d&pcat=40&fh=7&recid=62312488&recoff=1+2+50>;

Name: Susan Reilly
Arrival Date: 5 Dec 1928
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1902
Age: 26
Gender: Female
Port of Departure: Cobh, Ireland
Ethnicity/Race-
/Nationality: Irish
Ship Name: Baltic
Port of Arrival: New York, New York
Nativity: Ireland
Line: 15
Microfilm Serial: T715
Microfilm Roll: T715_4394
Birth Location: Ireland
Birth Location Other: mullagh co cavan
Page Number: 143

My former boss (who has now moved back to his native Ireland) and his
father (also in Ireland) would like to obtain a high resolution copy of
the manifest. If she had come through Ellis Island, the Ellis Island
search facility offers a method for ordering a high-resolution copy, but
she did not go through Ellis Island. I haven't found a way to order a
high-resolution copy through Ancestry.

Does anybody know of a way to get a high-resolution copy? If so, could
you let me know what that method might be? While my former boss is
living in Ireland these days, his wife and children are still here
through the end of school in the summer, so I could deal with them to
make things easier if getting a copy to Ireland is not easy.

Unless your suggestion is general in nature, I suggest you reply off-list.
