Sometimes there are errors in the originally indexes, so you may want
to search Jacobs or Jacob Frederick or Fredericks and see what happens.

But Frederick Jacobs was 76 yo at the time (July 30, 1902), and ill and
was promptly buried in Brooklyn where his family had long lived. Still a
small
puzzle... the substantial obit in the Brooklyn Daily Eagle (of Aug 1st)
made
no mention of such recent travel, but as you say, it may have occurred
(even
briefly). He isn't listed in the other buroughs either...
