DEATH NOTICES
SOEHNER--On Tuesday , May 29, Anna SOEHNER (nee O'SULLIVAN) daughter of John
Dennis O'SULLIVAN and Anna J. O'SULLIVAN, also mother of Catherine RILEY, John
SOEHNER, and Sophie SOEHNER, in her 57 year. Funeral from her late residence,
129 Greene st., Brooklyn, on Friday, June 1, 1928, at 8 A.M.; thence to the
R.C. Church of the Blessed Sacrament at Euclid st and Fulton st., where a
requiem mass will be offered. Interment at St. John's Cemetery. Masses preferred.
No flowers.
WHALEN--Dorothy (nee BEHAM), suddenly on Tuesday at her home, 374 Lexington
ave., beloved wife of Edward WHALEN. Survived by 3 sisters, Mrs. JOHNSON, Mrs.
NASH, and Mrs. MURPHY, 5 brothers William, Patrick, Thomas, John and
Christopher. Requiem mass Saturday at 9 A.M. at the R.C. Church of St. Ambrose,
Tompkins and DeKalb aves. Interment at St. John's Cemetery.
MURPHY--On May 30, 1928, Gertrude Theresa, infant daughter of Gertrude A.
(nee COFFEY) and John A. MURPHY. Funeral Saturday, 2 P.M. from residence, 547
Bergen st. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
MURPHY--Patrick E., oldest son of Patrick and Mary MURPHYand husband of
Hannah MURPHY (nee HICKEY), at his home, Tuesday, May 29. He is survived by 5
daughters, Mrs. John GANNON, Mrs. Everette JACKSON, Mrs. Chester JACKSON, Mrs.
Joseph MYRON, Mrs. John BRACKEN; 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services at 10 A.M., Friday at St. Francis Xavier's Church, 6 ave. and
President st. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
PHALEN--On May 27, Thomas F. PHALEN, of 1554 E. 36 st., a life long resident
of Brooklyn and beloved husband of the late Mary E. (nee BANNON), at the home
of his daughter, Mrs. Edward J. MONTAGNE, of Hollywood Cal. Funeral notice
hereafter.
McDERMOTT--On Wednesday, May 30, 1928, Catherine, beloved wife of Edward and
mother of Edward and Florence and daughter of Edward and Margaret McVAy, in
her 23 year. Funeral from her late residence, 127 Hobson ave., Laurel Hill, on
Saturday, at 9:30 A.M.; thence to the Church of St. Theresa of the Little
Flower of Jesus, where a solemn requiem mass will be offered at 10 A.M. Interment
Calvery Cemetery.
