Do you have any other information on Samuel such as his DOB or DOD? Names of
Siblings, Wife and Children (especially wife's name and children). Then I
might be able to help you further. I find Canaan New York, however it is in
Columbia County not Albany County NY (But the period of 1760-1780) it was part of
Albany County, Columbia not being formed until
The only New Canaan I find is in CT. Also there are also Surname Variations
for Hitchcock.
