First, I have a newpaper obit of my GG Aunt, Emma Loretta McCarty 1951 

Newport, RI, from this I was able to get her death cert. from Chicago.  She 

was born 7/17/1866 d. 3/26/1951 Chicago, IL

she was born in Cohoes, lived in Newport RI and died in Chicago IL.  her 

death cert. says from Chicago she was buried in St. Agnes Mennands.

Second, this led me to believe she wanted to be buried with her family, her 

name is Emma Loretta McCarty DELANGIE.

her husband:

     Peter DeLangie b. 3/1864 Cohoes d. 1946 Newport, RI

her parents:

     Cornelius McCarty b. 1820 Ireland

     Ellen unknow maiden name b. 1829 Ire, 1st marriage to William Sullivan

her siblings:

     Mary Sullivan b. 1843-1847 stepsister, child from Ellen's 1st marriage 

to Wm. Sullivan

     the McCarthy children from Emma's mother's 2nd marriage to Cornelius 

McCarty:

     Michael b. 1854

     Anna b. 1855

     Cornelius b. 1856

     Ellen b. 1860 m. Michael McGrath

     William b. 1863, went to Ohio his whole life 2 girls Helen and Ruth

     Louise b. 1865 m. Egan

     Emma b. 1866 m. Peter DeLangie

     Margaret

     Francis

     Neil (grandchild) child of who above?

ok, the big question is this, the MAIDEN NAME OF ELLEN who m. William 

Sullivan and after his death m. Cornelius McCarthy.  Unfortunately, Emma's 

death certificate list her mother as Ellen Sullivan.  I know this is not 

correct.  William Sullivan drowned before their first child was born cir. 

1843-1847.  Ellen was only about 17 yrs old and pregnant, Cornelius McCarty, 

Wm. Sullivan's cousin came from Ireland and married her.
