There's an excellent web page about the street name changes in Albany:

http://www.nysm.nysed.gov/albany/streets.html

with a link to another page that lists, in columns, old and "new" names.
Now if someone would just do that for Watervliet . . . I still
haven't found anyone who knows what the correspondence is between the
pre 1900 street names and the numbered streets south of the Arsenal.
