I attended VI's Glass School in the late thirties. It was only the first and
second grades and after that, I went to 4 School. I remember wearing little
white sun suits and the sun pouring in on us from the glass roof. I was told
it was a converted greenhouse and my desk used to get so hot I couldn't put
my arms on it. I remember the nuns and how afraid of them I was. This type
of education is not for the feint hearted. The boys that survived turned out
to be feisty as hell and high spirited. I kind of withered on the vine.
Does anyone know why VI closed, or why they never repaired 4 School after
the roof collapsed.

The mention of Myers Department Store and Quail Street brought back
memories. Does anyone remember the number 3 trolley, "The Belt Line". The
Colonial Theatre (the spit box) on Central or Harmanus Bleeker hall.

Just thought I'd ask,
