Dear Mary,
I had much the same trouble. Why were Appels and a Davidson buried in
the Noble Family plot. Come to find out my ancestor, Robert Emmet
Noble's daughter was Ella May (Noble) Appel. She is buried there, her
husband, and two small children. I think there are something
like...eleven people buried in that plot, I'm not sure it's been a long
time. Also, I found branches of my family the Washburns, buried in other
plots too. Later, through death and marriage records I discover that
they were buried in plots owned by their children or grandchildren. My
theory anymore is, copy down the names, date and other particulars of the
people in a given plot. Chances are high that you are related to them.
Also, it could have been a daughter of the family marries, and you find
relatives buried in her families plot. Time and determination help to
weed them out.
I hope this helps.
Carole
