We had some railroad tracks right down the hill from us, but nobody
ever came to our door. The tracks were below a hill, so maybe they
couldn't see the houses or the trains were moving a bit fast through that
area. As kids, we used to play on the hill sometimes and had orders to
run home if we ever saw anyone jump off the train. Many times we were
spoofed(? spell check doesn't recognize this word)and ran home scared that
someone was hiding down there. We didn't know of hobos asking for a meal
or anything like that. We just thought the worst. Mary
