I remember many years ago, when Ancestry acquired Rootsweb, we were worried they might start charging for Rootsweb. They didn't. I don't believe they will, at this point either. Rootsweb is there to get beginners hooked. A lot of these newbies eventually buy into Ancestry. I don't feel Rootsweb has added new material like it use to, but again, this is probably because they now put it all on Ancestry, where we pay for it.
