Judy,
mother: Methotasa (A Turtle Laying Her Eggs In The Sand) Also called Turtle
Mother
father: Pucsinwah (Hard Striker) Principal war chief of all the
Shawnees.d.10-10-74
son: Chiksika b. 1756 (the Chickasaw) Born when his parents traveled
through the
lands of that nation.
daughter: Tecumapese b.1758 (Watcher of the Shooting Star)
son: Tha'mthka (Tecumseh) b.Mar. 9.1768 (The Panther Crossing the Sky)
The Shooting Star. He was born under a green
shooting star.
son: b.Jan.1771
son: b.Jan.1771
son: Lalawethitka (He Makes a Loud Noise) He was a triplet (very rare
among
Indians), and he was the runt. "He was a cramped,
spindly thing
with a narrow and lopsided head, like a bean. With
a voice big
enough for all three, his harsh, terrible wail could
be heard for a
great distance. He later became famous as The
Prophet.
This was all taken from "Panther in the Sky." I'm sorry I couldn't come up
with the other two son's names, but they are probably in the book somewhere.
My Logan and Davis people lived at the mouth of the Scioto River where it
empties into the Ohio River. Tecumseh's tribe lived just up stream. They may
have known each other!
My people also settled at the Apple creek in Mo. Could one of the reasons
have been because they had friends among the Indians already there? Probably
so. That's a pretty big coincidence.
Just me-
Ginny in Indiana
