Hi Dan,

It seems to me that if your Matley's were in CA, they should show up in one or
more of the indexes. There must be somebody who has access to the indexes.
If you find them in an index, it will tell you what county, what page, & or
what twp. Then you can get that film & go right to it.
I just don't have access to anything but the 1850 or the 1880-1910 census
indexes.
I believe Salt Lake has the 1860 & 70 indexes in book form, but I don't know
of any in my area.
