Subject: Need sites for locating old towns

I need some help locating a town, does anyone have the URL's for some sites
that will search for old place names?

I already tried the US Gazeteer, and have been having major problems with the
Geographic Names Information System Online Data Base Query Form. Everytime I
try to execute a search from this site I get an error message about an
"invalid virtual host" or something like that.
