Carolyn - UOP started at Santa Clara 1851 as California Wesleyan
College. In 1871 they moved from Santa Clara to San Jose, in 1923
enrolled first freshman class at Stockton. College of Pacific became
University of the Pacific 1961. There is also room for confusion betwixt
this facility and San Jose Teachers College - now San Jose State
University - as they apparently were both operating in San Jose in the
1890's.
