I'm still using an old B/W scanner
1. I read a lot of computer magazines, and I never heard of "Storm"
2. Prices are down drastically, I suggest you go with a brand name, you'll
get better support if there are problems, and more software will work with
it
3. Specialized photo scanners do a better job technically, but only the most
expensive printers can use that
4. A flat top scanner will let you scan in sheets and books. If you find an
ancestor photo in a book, you want to be able to scan that also
5. Check the magazines in markets, and the library... within the last six
months you'll find many reviews and evaluations of scanners, they're a
current hot topic
6. "Computer Shopper" is my preferred magazine
the february issue has several scanner reviews
p. 496, Epson, Perfection 600, with a mfg.. price of $249.00
http://www.epson.com
p. 439, Plustek, Optic Pro 600P, list $99.00
http://www.plustekusa.com
There are many other excellent ones & a wide range of prices
retailers commonly have lower "street prices" if you shop a little than
the mfg. prices
