Hi Mary
They are actually talking about a cemetery in Hudson County. It is the
Hudson County Cemetery, aka Potter's Field, in Secaucus that they plan to
move. The Turnpike Authority has posted a list of the known burials in the
cemetery at their website. Unfortunately, they didn't include death dates
or burial dates - only the names of those interred.
At the present time the Turnpike passes over part of the cemetery - but the
new Secaucus Transfer Station (for rail transit) that is being built is
causing the Turnpike Authority to change some part of the turnpike. I think
that it is to accommodate a new exit into a parking lot for the Transfer
Station - although I am kind of fuzzy on the details.
