I am the Research Officer for the NZ Fencible Society. We hold some
information for James LYNCH and his family. Jane HOLMES was his wife. He
died 10 Dec 1864 Provincial Hospital. They had the following children.
Esther c. 1835 = Daniel KEEFE 6 Feb 1853 Howick Catholic.
John c. 1840
Christopher c. 1844
Margaret c. 1845
James 1849 Howick died 4 Sep 1854
Jane 9 Sep 1854 Howick
Can you give me more details for Margaret's HECKER partner/husband. Like you
I can find no marriage. Was he Henry Charles HECKER? An H C HECKER
received the NZ War Medal. I believe he had a wife Mary Ann Emma BAYHAM who
he married 1862 Clerkenwell..
This may have been the Mrs HECKER & family (4) that returned to England 1869
on the ship Ruahine. This would account for the 2 NZ born children in the
1881 UK Census, one of whom was Henry Charles Bayham T HECKER born Napier
1866. This woman did have another child in Farnham England 1870.
