Dear Bruce,

It is so long since I looked at the Minerva book, I am unable to tell you
my source for this data. According to the Fencible Society of NZ, John
was the son of Peter and Christian McIntyre nee Glass but where they got
that information I cannot say.

I just checked their publication of 1997 and they concur with my
information about him being married to Elizabeth Watt with 4 children.
Have you obtained his WO97 papers from Kew Public Record Office as they
might help.

Where did your info re his wife being Christian Fraser come from? One
possibility when one has two surnames (but probably not appropriate in
this case) is when a woman has been married several times and widowed. I
have found such woman can vary from name to name according to who gave the
information at the time.

Sorry I cannot be more helpful.
