I tried the new FS search engine and I have to laugh. The old expression of
garbage-in-garbage-out applies. I searched for my EKA in the Hall line,
Deacon Richard Hall of Bradford, MA, and got back two hits:
The first hit showed Richard being born in Stratford on Avon to parents that
are proven not to be his.
The second hit showed him being born to the same two parents in Dorchester,
MA which is also proven not to be true.
So, the engine did find the same old, wrong data that the old search engine
found, just far less of it. Maybe that's an improvement. At one time I tried
to stick post-it notes to the Rootsweb data that was all bad on Richard, but
no one seemed to care, since the data had just been "plugged-in" to their
lines blindly...
Fortunately, dna and new research being published on the web is beginning to
set all these records straight.

FamilySearch.org is testing their new search engine. I haven't tried it
yet and passing it on:

If anyone tries it, let us know how you liked/disliked it.
