Subject: Looking for Nebraska City history from the 1950's

I am new to this list, so this is my first post. But I am hoping someone can help me locate some history information from the 1950's. I attended school in Nebraska City (Otoe County) in the 1950's and 60's. I am a graduate from 14th street school and graduated from Nebraska City High School with the class of 1967.

One of my earliest memories of childhood, involved going to the train station to see Ike Eisenhower, I think he was running for a second term, if that is so it would have been 1955 or 56, I would have been six or seven years old. Is there anyone else on the list that remembers, or could help me perhaps locate pictures or details of the event.

As I work on my own personal "history", I want to include some of that information. Lots of history since those days, perhaps most of you are researching older items but never hurts to ask.

Feel free to contact me off list, if you would rather, but perhaps others would be interested.

Thanks!
