Hi Linda - They lived in the area of Carroll County Illinois. Quite a few of the Neikirk relatives lived in the same area. Most of them came from Washington County Maryland into Illinois but there were a few exceptions. Quite a few also headed into Ohio.
I didn't find a Horton or Whorton Neikirk among my family there. I can't recall another Neikirk family that went into Missouri - maybe someone else will. About what time frame were they in Missouri? Linda

Linda, Where in Illinois did your decedant live? Did he or his brother have
a son or grandson named Whorton or Horton Neikirk? That is the name of my
greatgrandfather; his wifes name was Viola. I can't find her maiden name. They
lived most of their lives in Lincoln County Missouri.
Thanks, Linda Bracht
