James Ewing Neikirk, 74, of Manheim, died Wednesday at the Lebanon VA Medical Center.

Born June 30, 1931, in Watsontown, he was a son of the late W.Easton and N.Isabel (Bender) Neikirk.

He is survived by his wife, Deborah K. (Pellman) Neikirk of Manheim.

Mr.Neikirk owned and operated Wheatland Real Estate.

He enjoyed history, boating, and spending time around the house.

He was an avid sports enthusiast, and especially liked football, track and basketball.

In addition to his wife, Mr.Neikirk is survived by two sons: James W.Neikirk of Rising Sun, MD, Jeffrey D., husband of Susan Neikirk of Lititz; three daughters: Linda S.Neikirk of Eureka, CA, Kimberly A., wife of Bernie Koposko of Rising Sun, MD and Jennifer E.Neikirk of Lancaster, fiancee of Nicholas Milak of Gibsboro, NJ; his brother: Walter H.Neikirk of Akron, OH; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Saturday at the Gundel Funeral Home, 415 North Duke Street, Lancaster.

Visitation will be Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and one hour prior to the service, both from the funeral home.

A private family interment will be at Boonsboro Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lancaster Chapter of the Diabetes Association, 630 Janet Ave., Lancaster, PA 17604.
