Hi Sue
There is a file called Moravian.txt on the usgenweb entitled "Genealogical Data From The Moravian Church: Oley Twp, Berks Co, PA " which has info on the early NEUKIRCH that came to PA. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/ussearch.htm
check off "PA" and enter "Moravian" and "NEUKIRCH" and you will see it.

I don't know of a book by Edwin Floyd NEIKIRK, but there is a Neikirk book by Hurley which has these same folks in the first two chapters.

I have been searching for past 5 years for parents of my gr4grandmother, Anna Maria NEUKIRCH. She was born 1770 and died 7/1804 after having her 8th child. She even had a set of twins! She and husband George MOHR lived in Robeson Twp, a little s. of Oley/Exeter area, Berks Co. They married 9/27/1789 at Schwartzwald Reformed church, Exeter, by Rev. Wilhelm Boos. I had found a Maria NEUKIRCH, age 16 in a confirmation class by Rev. Theob. Faber, of New Goshenhoppen and Great Swamp in 4/7/1787, which was Montgomery Co PA, next to Berks formed 1784,
but don't know who was living in that area then or why she was there and not in Berks Co somewhere in a conf class!

At first I thought her father might be Johannes, son of the emigrant who died 1813, but after getting his will from the Berks Co Register, he didn't mention her or any MOHR grandchildren, and he had another daughter named Maria b 1785, so I ruled him out as a possible parent.

Then I thought maybe son Henrich who married in Berks Co, then had a second wife, widow Freymeyer, and went to Wash. Co., Hagerstown area, MD. Henry's will does not yield a clue as to all of his children. It was a simple will and left everything to his second wife!
And.... he died, 1808 in MD, after Anna Maria did. So I still do not know who Anna Maria's parents were.

So if you are rumbling thru the papers from your father's findings, I would appreciate if you see any mention of an Anna Maria born 3/1770, died 7/1804 in Berks Co and married to George MOHR/MOORE!

In a copy of a Neikirk reunion article from the Seneca Advertiser Newspaper in Ohio, the 1895 family reunion was in Tiffin, OH, Riverside Park and one of the attendees was a Grover NEIKIRK!
Could this be the Grover P that you mentioned?

You are lucky to have all the papers from him and your
father, even if it will take time to sift thru!
Linda Hansen had posted letters from Dr. A B Newkirk to the Newkirk - L maillist. He was also shown in the reunion report of 1895 as sending in a letter saying that the NEIKIEKs were from Holland and entered into NY in 1650, and name was 'Cornelius von Newkersche'. I guess Dr A B didn't attend that reunion in 1895, as being from Los Angeles. But that NY branch is not the ones from Germany that came to PA!
There seem to be 2 separate families!

Would be nice to factually get them all straight!
