In the Berks Co History and Genealogical Annals, Morton Montgomery, pub 1909 the is mention of a NEWKIRK line from Scotland.

Now I thought most people from Scotland were Presbyterian, but this one is Lutheran and the eldest Jacob NEWKIRK seemed to have married a German gal - Mary REINHART!

So who knows if truth or fiction!
