I have a question that I haven't been able to answer that I hope that someone on the list can. Does anyone have any documentation on the first name of the Neikirk daughter who married John Barnheisel/Barnheiser? She was the sister of Barbara who married Christian Sheely. Several family members have given me Gertrude as her first name but I believe Hurley said it was Catrout. Does anyone have her name on an official document of some kind?

I think this makes a lot of difference - if her name is Gertraut - I think it is more likely that she and Barbara were daughters of Gertraut Hartman and Henry Neikirk. I am leaning that direction. We have a birth date for Gertraut of 1718 and we know she didn't die until 1802. She could easily have been having children until about 1860.
