Hi everyone -
Since I am very new - it would be wonderful if you would post what NEIKIRK Line you are working on. There is no pressure to do so - but hopefully we can help each other to find information. If you are at a brick wall - please tell us what it is.

I understand that there may be those on the list who are researching NEWKIRK, too. Here is my NEIKIRK line as I know it:

Johann Heinrich Neikirk b. 1706 of Dusseldorf, Germany d. 1785 Oley, Berks, Pa.
m. Anna Marie Arndts

their son Henry Neikirk had two wives (it gets a little sticky here)
1) Nancy Forman mother of Jacob, Michael, George and John

2) Mary - mother of Henry, Anne and Samuel (does anyone have Mary's maiden name?)

Their son Henry Neikirk b. 1782 of Washington Co., MD married
Nancy Furry and had my ancestor Manasses b. 1809 as well as other children: David, Susan, Martha, Elizabeth, Rebecca, Levi, Mary, Henry F., Nancy and Barbara.

Manasses married Mary Ann Pope and was the father of Margaret Ellen Neikirk (1832). Margaret was the wife of 1) William Newman and 2) Samuel Scott.(my ancestor). They were the parents of Laura Vellmay Scott (1863) who my grandmother remembers as a sweet, kind, loving grandmother. (My own grandmother is 92.)

I would love to see some information on those earlier generations.
