I am trying to find information about my Grandmother's father....GEORGE W MCFARLAND. I was just beginning to try to find out about his family.... I had one bit of info: B. 1879 Bourbon, Kansas, but I am beginning to think this is incorrect.
In my Grandmother's writings she says that her father was from Wood River, NE...

Here is what I know:
GEORGE W MCFARLAND
b. date ???? where ????
d. 1918 LaSalle, CO
parents: ??????
siblings: ????

He married Henrietta Westfall in 1906 in LaSalle, CO. He worked for the UP railroad in the round house. He died in 1918 and is buried in the Linn Grove Cemetery near LaSalle, CO.
My grandmother's writing says that did not have a funeral because the family was ill with the flu. My Grandmother says that George's father came to therir house when George died, but never had communication with him after that.

Henrietta and George had 5 children: They lived in LaSalle, CO

Lenora: died of scarlet fever in 1924 at the age of 14.
(there is a Lenora died 8/7/1923 at the age of 15 in the Linn Grove Cemetery where George is buried) maybe this is her and Grandma had her dates incorrect)

Eugene: died in infancy....
(there is a Ross died 3/7/1910 age 1 in the Linn Grove Cemetery where George is buried...maybe his name was Eugene Ross or visa versa)

Geneva: b. 1911 (my grandmother)....have info about her

Verna: 1913... I have info on her.

Georgia: b. 1916 ......died at the age of 5 of diptheria (1921)
(There is a George E died 12/27/1920 at the age of 3. Maybe the transcription was wrong)...and maybe Grandma had dates wrong)

I have found a George W McFarland....son of James M. Mcfarland in the 1880 census for Grant CO, Kearney NE. George was 7 years old. Mother was Ella.
2 other children: Elizabeth aged 4 and Lauraette aged 2. The census says the parents of James lived next door.

If anyone knows more about the McFarlands in Kearney, I would love to hear from you.
