Hi Monica,

Truth be told I'm scared to death! :) But having someone in Poland who
speaks English AND has invited me to visit is too great an opportunity
to pass up. I also hate to fly, but cannot think of another efficient
way of traveling from Nebraska to Poland (transporter like in Star
Trek???) You can count on me taking loads of pictures.

The Beginning Polish class is going great! I'll never learn enough
Polish to get by without some kind of interpreter in Poland, but I'm
learing the basics. Bruce got me the Learn Polish Now! software for
Christmas, which is also very helpful. Our instructor is great. I've
signed up for the next class that follows the Beginning Polish.

While we are on the subject of Polish classes. For those of you who are
in/or near Omaha, Metro Community College offers non-credit classes in
Beginning Polish and Continuing Polish. Their online schedule can be
accessed from http://www.mccneb.edu/conteducation.asp. The instructor
is from Poland; she has been in the U.S. about 10 years and taught
Polish in Poland. The Beginning Polish class isn't being offered this
coming quarter. You can keep checking back to see when it is offered,
or they do mail out the non-credit class schedule before each quarter's
classes - you could call to be put on the mailing list if you do not
currently receive it.
