I have been a subscriber to all the products available through Ancestry.com since day 1 but I also am concerned about their latest move. Anyone who has placed their information on either World Connect or the family trees with Ancestry should know that they are now going use the data in a new pay product. The information will still be available for free but at the same time, all the data that has been contributed will also be incorporated into a new paid service. This has really concerned me because 3 different people have taken my data and placed it online without permission, with no attribution, errors and all. The errors that have been corrected in my own database never make it to the online data because people who grab names are more interested in name count than anything else. I have even had people try to tell me that I should correct certain items because I have something wrong when in fact it is my original error they use as their source since it my errors that o!
thers have placed online.

I have sent a feedback to Ancestry to tell them I think their latest income producing product is a very bad idea. If you have submitted data to World Family Tree on Rootsweb or to the family trees on Ancestry, you might want to take a look at what it means to you in the future and decide if you wish to take it offline.
