Thank you for the information. I am aware from Ancestry.com that a family
exists of Jesse Barnett Jr. / Jesse Barnett Sr. /Thomas Barnett / John
Barnett. I do think I belong to this family because they were from the same
area, have many of the same first names etc. but just can't get the right
information for the connection.
Thomas Barnett has son Joseph Crenshaw Barnett but his son is Joseph
Worrell. A lady from our Genealogy Society that has helped me and I were
just sure that we had a Joseph C. Sr. and Jr. but that was not the case.
I will keep the information you sent me because they are probably in my
supposed family that I haven't linked up with yet.

I don't know if you have seen it, but there were a Jesse and a Joseph
Barnett listed in the 1771 Militia in Granville, commanded by Capt.
Williams. The list is included in "The History of Granville County" from an
article in the Oxford Public Ledger published in 1903, by William H.
Harrison, which is online, and some of the info in it can be quite helpful
to those researching some of those early Granville settlers.
