Subject: [NCDOGS] D-OGS meeting notice for November 2002
Date: Tue, 05 Nov 2002 17:47:56 -0500

The next general meeting of the Durham-Orange Genealogical Society
(D-OGS) will be held on Wed, 6 November 2002. Our program will be a
group discussion of “D-OGS – Where We Are, What We Do and Where We Want
To Go”.

This is a critical time for volunteer membership societies &
organizations. Many organizations are struggling to survive in light of
outside conflicts and distractions that members are facing. D-OGS is no
different in this respect. We need to do some self-examination and plan
for the future and the continued growth of our society. We need to set
priorities for current and future projects and decide how we are going
to do the work. Please bring your ideas, questions and comments to share
with the group.

This topic is very pertinent since we will also have our annual election
of officers for 2003. This session will give our new slate of officers a
chance to hear what the membership is interested in for the future of
D-OGS.

The meeting will be held at the Duke Homestead Visitor Center auditorium
in Durham from 7:00pm-9:00pm. The Duke Homestead site is located on Duke
Homestead Road, off Guess Road just north of the I-85 overpass. Follow
the brown road signs.

For those of you who missed the CIG meeting this past Saturday, we had
an interesting discussion, led by Carol Boggs, on the use of AniMap
Plus. We were able to chronicle the changes in NC counties from the
1600's right up to the present.
