Some recent research led me to the correct name of this plantation. It is called Maules Haven. The original land grant was made to William Maule in 1716, some 4840 acres on the west side of the Chowan River in then Chowan Co. William Maule of Bertie County was the Surveyor General of the Province when Charles Eden was governor of NC(1714-1722). Anyone familiar with the location of this plantation?
