Subject: 1500s-1700s/England/Isle of Wight Co. & VA/Isle of Wight Co./Thomas MERRICK
Date: Mon, 27 Dec 2004 23:53:19 EST

There may be no connection at all...but...considering the locations of "Isle
of Wight County" in England in the 1500s and "Isle of Wight County" in
Virginia in the 1600s with the location in England connecting to the
STUART-WORSLEY/WORKESLEY-STANDISH family that married into the MERRICK family of a Thomas
MERRICK there in the 1600s/1700s, thought it might bear some more prying eyes to
see if it might directly connect to the Thomas MERRICK, immigrant to America,
of England and Isle of Wight County, Virginia, possible father of Owen
MERRICK/MIRICK/MYRICK, Sr. of Isle of Wight County, Virginia.

The following short excerpt is seen in full page further below.

(C)John James Worsley of Pilewell (b 1645)
m. (1688) Mary Stuart (dau of Sir Nicholas Stuart, Bart of Hartley Maudiut)
(i)Sir James Worsley of Pilewell, 5th Bart of Appuldercombe (d 1756)
m. (12/5.02.1714) Rachel Merrick (dau of Thomas Merrick)

Looking forward to hearing from anyone who might know whether this Thomas
MERRICK might connect.
