Subject: [MURPHY-L] Patrick Murphy Who? And a tidbit....
Date: Sat, 18 Mar 2000 10:05:18 EST
I was a bit busy inspecting the green beer yesterday, and missed our post for
the big day. Happy St Patty's day from the Patty Murphy decendents.
Speaking of, I heard something interesting yesterday from a native
Irishwoman. Most of you know that St Pattys day is bigger here in the USA
than in Erin. Apparently, St Pattys was not a fun day for the children of
Ireland who were let out of school, only to HAVE to attend church all day.
#38 is a new post at the end of the list. Here are our Patty's: ;-) Marilyn

I'm trying to find Patrick MURPHY. I know hardly anything about him except
married a lady who the kids "liked to hear talk". They had at least one
child-- Mary. Probably more but I don't have names.
The following events took place in the North Freedom/Baraboo area of
Mary MURPHY (b. 1859?) married Thaddeus HANGAR (b. 1854?) probably somewhere
1st child, Bruce, was born in 1879 married Kate ?
2nd child, Glenn, was born in 1884 and later married a Priscilla Veitch
3rd child, Pearl, was born in 1887, married a William Roy MINER
4th child, Clinton, born in 1888 and married a Miller.
William Roy died Feb. 1961
Pearl Miner died March, 1962.
Their son, Clifford b. 1916, died in 1963
Their daughter is still living.
And so, I know some of my MURPHY's descendants but none of their ancestors.
