Hello!
Well the Hungate that I am related to is Elizabeth Hungate. She is my 5 Great Grandmother. Born Feb 14 1795 in Simpson Co., KY. Her father was John Hungate (Colonel) married to Mary Coffman. Elizabeth married John Vincent Hardesy who was born May 13, 1793 Talbot Co., Maryland. Married Jan 24 1811 Washington Co., KY.
There were alot of Hungates and Hardesty/Hardisty's that were in KY then moved to McDonough Co., Ill. And then on to Montana. Elizabeth and John Vincent had 13 children and their 4 child William is my 4 great grandfather. Their 2 child Mary Polly Hardesty married Dotson Seybold and moved to Dillon, MT and is buried in Lima, MT. I've got a picture of her from the Dillon Historical Museum. Darn tough women back then.

I'll send you some interesting information about the Hungates in Indiana and also about the Mormon Wars in McDonough Co., Ill. THere are Hungates, Seybolds and Hardisty's that were all part of that.

I'm not sure what line Uriah is from. I've not followed Elizabeth's line.

I'd love to hear more.

Beth Foster
