Thanks for your reply.
I have his marriage certificate of 1867 but all I can glean from that is
that he claimed to be 27 at the time which would put his birth at 1840 compared
with the census records of 1871, 1881 and 1891 which put his age as being
41,and 42.
His father's name is recorded on the marriage certificate as James Jones
also and his occupation is listed as a farmer. The two birth certificates I have
are for a James Jones born on 14 May 1841 at Dixton and a James Jones born
Jan. 1842 at Llanarth - both of whom had fathers named James Jones !! Both were
Labourers - presumably Ag.Labs if living at Dixton or Llanarth. I think a
pin might be required !!
