Mary Katherine Morrow Mace
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday for
Mrs. George W. Mace, 85 of Iberia who passed
away last Wednesday, October 15, 1958 at her
home.
Mrs. Mace, the former Mary Katherine Morrow
was born near Iberia Dec. 13, 1872, the only
daughter of William and Atha Ann Morrow.
She attended the Iberia Academy and Drury
College and taught school for a few years before
her marriage.
Mrs. Mace was a member of the Iberia
Congregational Christian Church for about 60 years.
On January 1, 1899, she was married to George
W. Mace who survives. They were the parents of
six children. Two daughters died in infancy. Vida
at the age of 13 months and Virgie at the age of
seven months. A son, Walter, died in 1942 at the
age of 37.
Surviving relatives in addition to her husband
are three daughters, Mrs. Marjorie Hix of Ulman,
Mrs. Ruby McDonald of Warrensburg and Mrs.
Lucille White of Iberia; four brothers, Thurman and
Lev Morrow of Iberia, Seldon Morrow of Denver,
Colorado and Sat Morrow of Las Animas, Colorado
and one grand daughter, Mary Melinda Morrow of
Warrensburg.
The Rev. Earl Brown officiated at the services
Friday at the Congregational Christian Church in
Iberia. Interment was in the Iberia cemetery under
the direction of the Hedges Funeral Home of Iberia.
Pallbearers were Bob Perkins, GR Keeth, Marvin
Morrow, Willard Humphrey, Harold Doyce Pemberton
and Johnny Grady.
