Mark,
I don't know if this line is mine, but let me see if this can help you while I search for mine.
I know of a Benjamin Wooley in OH b 1800 m Sarah Herron b 12/13/1803 in OH. He also married an Elizabeth Daniels b Delaware 1821.
Children from 1st marriage:
Wm Preston W
Mary J
Nancy J
Daniel
George Black
James H
Charles F
Harvey W
Lucy Ann
I also have children of Daniel.
The father of Benjamin was Jacob b c 1770 NJ. They went to Ohio and then some of the family went to Oregon. Said family that went to OR married Native Indians.???
Benjamin's siblings were:
susannah
Elenor
Isaac
Elijah
Jacob2
Daniel
Thomas
William
Joshua
Elisabeth
Catherine b 1820 in OH.
Best I can do right now to help you. Now mine.
I have g-grandfather and grandfather that took their brides to MO to marry. They didn't stay there, but returned to Ohio. I wondered who might be there to encourage them to go there to marry. Especially, both generations. I know things were different back then, but for the brides to go, I would think it would have to be a family thing.
My g-grandfather was George H Wooley/Woolley b 1854 NJ m Neal/etc
My grandfather was Daniel Lee Wooley/Woolley b 1879? OH m Shaffer/Shiffer/etc.
I can't seem to find where to look to find any other information for these weddings.
They both had their families in Ohio and I know my g-grandfather died there.
I have no clue what happened to Thomas C Wooley/Woolley b 1803-1813 and I don't know when he died. In 1880 census, his wife and some of the children were back in Ohio living with the bride's father as a widow.
Jacob translates to another name, but I have forgotten what.
Hope this helps someone out there.
My gg-grandfather Thomas C married in OH both times. Census records show him b in NJ and that's all I know.
