If you haven't seen it there is an article on Wm Clark's death on 30 June 1888 in the 4 July 1888 issue of the Jefferson Democrat:
http://www.rootsweb.com/~ote/usa_genealogy/mo_news1888jl4.htm

And there is an item in the 26 Apr 1872 issue reporting the death of the earlier Mrs Wm Clark (Maria) on 11 April at the age of 36 leaving four motherless children:
http://www.rootsweb.com/~ote/usa_genealogy/mo_news1872apr.htm

It looks like he recovered fairly quickly from that loss as there is an intem in the 24 Jan 1873 about Mr & Mrs Wm Clark losing a 3 month old boy to pneumonia.
http://www.rootsweb.com/~ote/usa_genealogy/mo_news1873jan.htm

And a related item - the 19 Oct 1887 issue reports that (Wm Clark's daughter) Laura was licensed to marry Mr. E.J. BLACKMER of Leadville, Colo. in St Louis. Laura would be Frank & Otto's older half-sister.

All for now,

It is in the 1880 census for Wm & Sarah Clark.
http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Search/frameset_search.asp?PAGE=census/search_census.asp

It doesn't mention another wife but lists 2 sons and a daughter older than Frank whose mother was born in Va. (Sarah was born in DE).

Thank you for this info. That was something that I never knew or could find on what little info I did have.
I only have William being married once and was wondering if you could tell me where you found his other wife mentioned. And mom never mentioned other siblings that were older then Frank. As for Otto Clark all I have on him is: b; April 25,1876 in Hillsboro, Mo and d; Oct 26, 1961 I believe in Hillsboro as well.

Also on William Clark I have found that his father may have been from Canada.
Again thank you for your info, because I had hit a brick wall when it came to this family line. And I know that in the Jeff. Co newspaper collection I have found the Clark family name and it also said that they were one of the oldest families in the area, marrying into the Husky family and I still can't make a connection.

One more question: I found in the 1850 census for ILL. a William Clark age 7 birth place NY. but that is all I found in ILL>

Again thank you for your help.
